Welcome to Ohana Martial Arts Academy.

Ohana is a Hawaiian word that means "family."

Why a Hawaiian word?

Henry Okazaki, the founder of Danzan Ryu Jujitsu, lived in Oahu, Hawaii and spread his style all over the world from that tiny little island.

Why Family?

Family best describes the environment of our dojo. We are not a hard-core competitive sports training gymnasium. Nor are we a make-a-buck window front franchise. Our students are all family. It is our goal and our joy to provide a safe, friendly environment where people can come to learn a martial art, learn self protection skills, make friends, and most important, have fun. If that sounds good to you, please come join us. We need all the family we can get.

What do you teach?

We are proud to offer the traditional martial art form developed by Professor Okazaki known as Danzan Ryu Jujitsu.

We also offer a modern, Practical Self-defense Course. Visit the relative pages for more information about each.

Where are you located?

We are located in Chehalis near exit 76 off I-5. (Chehalis is located in Lewis County in the state Washington, USA for folks viewing this page from around the globe.). For specific directions, please contact Sensei Rob Gebhart at (360) 269-3351.

Why do you do it?

We do it because we love it. We love sharing our knowledge and arts with everyone interested in learning. Our dojo is a not for profit organization. All instructors donate their time so that all dues received from students can go towards supporting and improving the dojo.

How do I get started?

First, look through our web-site and find out as much as you can about what we offer. Then, visit our information page, go to the schedule section, and pick a class you want to visit. You do not have to participate right away. Simply come watch. That is by far the best way to see what we do and learn what we have to offer. Contact Sensei Rob Gebhart at (360) 269-3351 to get directions to the dojo.

I have as specific question…
